The GIS development team at the City and County of Denver is currently seeking a talented Associate (Mid-Level) Developer to join us in building innovative GIS solutions. Our team develops software using the Scrum software development framework, allowing us to be agile and to work closely with our customers. We value high quality software and we use continuous integration (automated builds, automated unit testing, static code analysis and automated test deployments) to allow us to develop software rapidly. To support effective agile development we have a team room available that provides an excellent collaboration space for team projects. Our team is skilled in the latest technologies including ArcGIS Server , ArcObjects, the ArcGIS Server JavaScript API, Dojo, ASP.NET MVC , WCF (JSON and SOAP services), Entity Framework, Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server The DenverGIS development team is responsible for core GIS systems at the city and this position provides you with the opportunity to shape the future of GIS in Denver. We are also exploring open geodata technologies (ex. RESTful services using GeoJSON, KML, etc.) to make Denver's spatial content more accessible to our customers. The qualified candidate will be proficient in ArcGIS Server application development and will have experience using ArcObjects. The majority of time will be focused on hands-on design and implementation as a member of the development team. DenverGIS implements and sustains a viable geographic information system (GIS) which provides accurate, up-to-date, and readily available geographic information to all City agencies and the public. DenverGIS uses technology to build greater collaboration between agencies and allows agencies become more efficient and effective through GIS. QUALIFICATIONS Required Experience (must be demonstrated on application): Two years of current professional experience in GIS software development including the following: Professional development experience with ArcObjects Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and AJAX techniques Object-oriented design and development with C# Relational database development experience including experience with geodatabase design and implementation Development experience with ESRI ArcGIS Server Experience with ArcSDE and ArcGIS Server administration Experience with Agile software development Effective interpersonal communication skills Education Requirement (must be demonstrated on application) Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field. Equivalency: additional related experience may be substituted for the minimum education requirement Preferred Experience (please demonstrate on application, if relevant): Development experience with: · JavaScript libraries such as Dojo, jQuery and YUI · ArcGIS Server Javascript API · ArcGIS Server Silverlight API · Google Maps and/or Bing Maps Experience with ASP.NET MVC (or demonstrated experience with the MVC pattern in other frameworks) RESTful web service development using JSON and/or XML SOAP web service development using WCF Graphics design/web design experience Unit testing skills Professional experience working on a Scrum team
