Denton, TX
office. This is an excellent career opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join an exciting team of professionals. Typical projects involve assisting federal, state and local clients in completing floodplain engineering and mapping projects.
Responsibilities:
Mapping modeled floodplain delineations and flood zones;
Assisting engineers in the production of flood hazard maps;
Checking for graphical and technical accuracy of flood hazard maps and associated reports;
Cartography on additional communication products;
Coordinating with the project team, project managers, clients, local communities, and other contractors to compile all data necessary to produce the most up-to-date products
Required Skills & Required Experience:
B.S. degree in Geography, GIS or related field is required
0-3 years experience in physical sciences or related field
Knowledge, interest, and project experience in GIS applications.
ESRI product experience
Cartography
Strong oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Access)
