Esri – Going Hollywood

Esri, one of the leading players in providing GIS solutions for digital artists in the film, television and the gaming industry recently, have announced that they will be enhancing their popular city Engine with the advanced geo spatial technology. City Engine which already provides unlimited capabilities in creating a digital cityscape will get more power with the addition of geo spatial technology. Esri will be displaying their latest capabilities to the industry experts during the Siggraph 2013 event taking place in Anaheim, California, between 23rd and 25th of July 2013.

Esri has simplified the process of creating 3D cityscape designs by combining spatial data sets with the various building design rules. This has given rise to the creation of life like city scape 3D images. Before the introduction of this facility, designers used to take many months for coming out with a realistic 3D version of the city scape. Designers need to procure a number of software programs to create a realistic 3D city scape. Designers also have to spend more time in mastering the software. While announcing the availability of advanced 3D cityscaping features provided by Esri, Dominik Tarolli, the business development officer with Esri, revealed that the latest capabilities would provide an extra edge to the cityscape 3D designers.
