Pore Pressure Specialist
The pore pressure specialist will lead development of safety-related compliant pore and fracture pressure forecasts, pressure detection strategies for strategic regional wells, engage geomechanics in the development of wellbore strengthening and wellbore stability evaluations and evaluate sub-surface related non-productive time (NPT) events for root cause to drive learning.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Be familiar with customer drilling plan, pre-drill pore pressure prediction, structural geology and pressure generation mechanisms which may be present. Meet appropriate client personnel and attend pre-spud meeting if possible.
Make arrangements for location at well site. Preferably close to LWD and Mud Logging.
Confirm WITSML server data streaming from LWD tools and any other streaming data source such as mud logging data (Gas, ROP etc...). Always have backup solution.
Ensure connectivity exists to send/receive e-mail for communication and support and ensure you are provided with the proper distribution list.
Ensure that everyone on the various teams (Operator, Driller, SLB segments, etc.) understands the role and responsibilities of the PreVue Analyst while both onshore and offshore.
Deliver safety related Pore Pressure and Fracture Gradient Drill Window Forecast with integrated geomechanics and generate updated forecasts during well operations as needed
Evaluate NPT events and support investigations to capture and share learnings.
Evaluate zonal isolation requirements for well construction and abandonment.
Min requirements
Advanced Degree in Geoscience/Petrophysics or Geomechanics.
2-3 years experience with pore pressure and real-time monitoring software.
Experience in well planning and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Sound Geoscience and Geomechanics background, working knowledge of Petrophysics, Basin Modelling, Processing Geophysics, Reservoir Engineering, Drilling Engineering, Rig Systems, and Well Control.
Proficient in Techlog and Excel
