This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Lead Hydrologist, GS-1315-13 positions throughout NOAA. The position must be alike (e.g.: within the same geographic locations, same grade/band and requires the same qualifications and specialized experience as indicated in this vacancy announcement).

As a Lead Hydrologist, you will perform the following duties:

Manage technical and administrative support for the WFO hydrologic and hydro-meteorological procedures, models, techniques, manuals, and dissemination plan to ensure optimal use of technologies and real time data in a geographically and organizationally complex support area.

Oversee River Gage Station (E-19), station rating table, and hydrologic model parameters.

Write flood damage assessments, flood reports, and monthly reports of river and flood conditions.

Monitor hydrologic data network and data exchange as a liaison with local, state, and Federal agencies.

May work up to 20 percent of operational forecast shifts a month, with allowances to account for varying program management workloads and special circumstances arising during active hydrologic situations.

Travel Required

50% or less - 30% of domestic travel may be required.
