Our Senior Project Manager will serve as a Technical Consultant/Senior Project Manager in our GIT-GIS organization with a specific role in the Public Safety Sub-Practice. The successful candidate will develop Michael Baker International’s DataMark presence with a primary focus on San Diego County, Inland Empire, and the State of California’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES). (S)He will develop business in GIS addressing DataMark software, and consulting in collaboration with other Michael Baker International leaders in GIT and the Public Safety Sub-Practice.
Connect/cross market other discipline services.
Support other disciplines that have existing client relationships and leverages those relationships in search of growth opportunities.
Assist in developing and maintaining client relationships, as well as strategic pursuit of planning, stakeholder outreach, proposal development and project management execution for project delivery as may be warranted.
Work closely with our Public Safety Sub-Practice and GIT leaders in pursuit, identification and strategies, agency and public outreach, and allocation/management of technical resources.
Maintain a strong foundation of technical knowledge and develops knowledge of internal and external technical resources.
Participate in 911/GIS industry groups (NENA and URISA) as a committee member, workshop instructor or speaker at conference events. Participate in other visible industry roles to maintain a high profile. Attend major conferences such as NENA, APCO, ESRI UC, CalGIS as needed.
As the situation/project warrants, lead the project delivery on GIS related projects through coordination with the various stakeholders involved. This is a key part of the Baker culture in maintaining active senior level leadership in project delivery with our clients.
Identify potential business development opportunities that are professionally challenging; bring recognition to Michael Baker on a local and regional basis; and help to continue to maintain and expand Michael Bakers Public Safety GIS position in southern California and at CA State level at CalOES. Lead the proposal, interview, fee development and negotiations for various project pursuits
Recruit and attract individuals to the firm and help build careers. Serve as technical and career mentor to existing and future Public Safety and GIS staff.
Provide exemplary leadership and serve as a role model for others.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 15 years of related experience that demonstrate a successive increase in experience and responsibilities
This is a highly visible position that requires strong interpersonal, communication, presentation and negotiation skills and problem solving abilities.
You’ll have the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments independently under limited supervision
You’ll be proficient with current computer programs and technologies.
