Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides senior level technical oversight/guidance and workload balancing of a unit that maintains electric and gas asset data in BGE's systems of record.
Performs technical duties at a senior level, is a technical expert and maintains expertise in the use of BGE's systems of record and associated workflow processes.
Assigns work to and provides operational and functional support to Sr. GIS Technicians, GIS Technicians, Asset Management Administrators, and others as needed to ensure the accuracy of asset information stored in BGE's systems of record. Leads work groups in completing routine work and fulfilling special assignments.
Functions as the primary point of contact for other BGE Departments to resolve discrepancies between the systems of record and actual field conditions.
Researches, analyzes, and resolves all types and complexities of data integrity discrepancies associated with electric and gas assets. Participates on Apparent Cause Evaluation teams, and sometimes takes a lead role representing Asset Records Management.
Applies comprehensive understanding of all interactive systems to ensure data complies with established data quality standards.
Interprets construction drawings, map records, historic documents, and construction standards from various sources.
Determines complexity of new work and distributes work appropriately across the Unit.
Plans and estimates workload and required resources.
Develops workload reports and assists in the prepation of data for unit performance and Scorecard metrics.
Provides oversight / direction for the development of training materials, job aids, work flow diagrams, and procedures.
Trains others through formal classes, seminars and informal meetings. Investigates, evaluates, and communicates better/best practices for the good of the organization.
Coordinates activities associated with the annual PSC audits of map records.
Recommends fixes and enhancements to improve functionality of asset management systems.
Performs system testing in advance of migration.
Participates in system / data maintenance rollouts to ensure an orderly transition to production and acts as a liaison with the system originators to ensure the accuracy of migrated data.
Integrates new systems and applications into the data maintenance process.
Provides active oversight of multiple sources of incoming work to ensure the resourceful execution of daily production and work flow.
Maintains a safe work area, complies with all Company safety requirements, and actively promotes safety.

Thorough knowledge of geographic, outage management and asset management systems associated with electric and gas assets.
Familiarity with the gas & electric distribution systems is a plus.
Demonstrated proficiency with company design and construction standards, work practices and regulatory requirements.
Demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating system and file management practices.
Supervisor - Mapping
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret various complex documents such as: construction drawings, technical and business information, and construction standards.
Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze complex data quality issues and recommend system modifications and/or process improvements.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, instruct personnel, motivate others, and to work as a senior member of a team.
Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, manage, and coordinate multiple work assignments for individuals and teams.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and coordinate results of tactical assignments.
Demonstrated ability to train others in established GIS procedures and monitor adherence to defined standards
Demonstrated commitment to personal and work place safety requirements.
Two years post high school education and over seven years in appropriate design, engineering, GIS and drafting or the equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience.
May perform other duties as assigned.
