The research associate will: assist in the planning and implementation of campus and school-based professional development programs for K-12 educators, implement South Carolina Geographic Alliance pre- and in-service programs, coordinate and administer the outreach activities for the Center of Excellence, conduct research on learning styles and teaching materials, present research findings at professional meetings, and serve as a mentor for pre- and in-service teachers. Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions) A bachelor\u2019s degree in geography, education or a closely related field and at least 2 years professional experience in those fields. Preferred Qualifications A master\u2019s degree in geography or education with an emphasis on learning sciences, pedagogy, geography skills and technologies. Knowledge\/Skills\/Abilities Strong communication skills, including excellent command of spoken and written English is essential, as well as a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment.
