Research and Development Scientist 1

**MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is an ISO 17025 Accredited Test Laboratory providing microbial testing services for products and materials used by industrial and consumer product manufacturers.

We are presently accepting applications for RD Scientist 1. Candidates will need to have experience working in a laboratory environment handling microorganisms, chemical materials, and associated laboratory equipment.

Our laboratory provides state of the art product testing which includes test compliance for market acceptance, regulatory requirements, development of environmental sustainability and biodegradation, and improved resistance to microorganism deterioration.

Applicants must be prepared to learn new technology and testing methods in a fast growing business. Qualified applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in a biological related science or 4 or more years’ experience in a microbiological or chemical laboratory.

Ideal candidates would be familiar with the range of industrial and consumer product markets served by our laboratory. Position would not offer relocation expenses nor require an advanced degree.

Laboratory is located in Skokie, IL, with a new location opening this winter in Wheeling, IL. Our new lab is a short walk from a Metra stop and is also a short drive from 294.

Work closely with Manager to support new and existing customers.

Prepare samples for microbiological and analytical testing and perform microbiological testing.

Provide technical support, training and general information as needed to fellow employees.

Plan and execute laboratory experiments as needed to develop new products and applications.

Add additives into customer compounds or materials to fulfill stability, durability, and efficacy testing and development.

Understand necessary analytical and safety data (pH, color, odor, density, and viscosity), Material Safety Data Sheets, including technical bulletins.

Conduct work in a safe and effective manner.

Maintain inventory for needed materials, supplied and equipment in the laboratory.

Effectively enter test and sample information into the R&D database.

Set up, adjust and operate laboratory equipment and instruments required for the effective execution of duties in the laboratory.

Mathematical, computer, and written proficiency.
