WSP is currently initiating a search for a Water Resources Engineer

for our Virginia Beach, VA team!

Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will perform civil design tasks for projects involving stormwater management and drainage systems for local, state, and federal clients

Perform hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality calculations for studies and design

Assist in the preparation of contract documents including reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates

Utilize civil engineering design software, such as Civil 3D, SWMM, and MicroStation

Work with team members on a wide array of projects and multiple assignments

Work with regulatory agencies in the permitting process

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Biological Systems Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited program

At least one year of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).

Experience with stormwater management or drainage design and calculations

Experience with GIS software

Ability to immediately work in the United States

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Preferred Qualifications

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) designation

Previous intern experience in A/E industry

Knowledge of National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permitting, Chesapeake Bay TMDL, and Virginia Stormwater Management Program

Knowledge in the use of accepted water resources related software and design software including: HEC-RAS, PC-SWMM or EPA-SWMM, Civil 3D, Microstation, and other engineering software
