Job Description Description : SAIC is currently looking for a Geospatial Analyst who analyzes geographic information about the earth's surface and the objects found on it. Works with related GIS software and programs to create and maintain databases and\/or maps that can be combined with geographically referenced data. Meets with users to define data needs, project requirements, required outputs, or to develop applications. Compiles geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps. Analyzes spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports. Enters new map data through use of a digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales. Qualifications : Education: A bachelor\u2019s degree in a field related to the support services; may count for up to four years of this experience. Required Skills: At least 3 years of relevant geospatial analysis experience and specific experience listed below: Knowledge and experience with digital cartography, image processing, computer technology, geographical information systems (GIS), geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, and photogrammetry. Knowledge of and experience with most of the following: ArcGIS, ArcSDE, ArcView, ArcIMS, ArcTools, the Integrated Exploitation Capability (IEC) system, SocetSet, TerraExplorer\/Builder, RemoteView, ERDAS IMAGINE, MRSID, VB\/VBA (or some other object oriented programming\/scripting language), Oracle and other appropriate software to analyze geospatial data. Capability to read and understand intelligence issues, military affairs, and use GIS to develop Geospatial Intelligence reports and products to solve problems.
