We are looking for a full-time Senior Cartography Technician

for our engineering office in Yarmouth, Maine. In this role you will be responsible for applying Cartography standards and procedures to implement basic designs. Responsibilities include assisting with research, creation, evaluation and quality assurance of maps produced for use in Garmin products. Other essential functions include: 

Understands engineering needs as they relate to Cartography

Mentor and assist coworkers

Responsible for workflow support and execution

Identifies and resolves issues/risks using advanced problem solving skills and demonstrates appropriate cartographic judgment related to projects

Periodic evaluation/sampling of data and products to maintain GARMIN's product quality

Manage maintenance of and update cartography training program; maintain training records

Must demonstrate excellent presentation, communication and organization skills

Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor’s Degree in cartography or geography from a four-year college or university or 4 years’ experience performing a role substantially similar to the essential functions of this job description. Other requirements include: 

Maintains a consistently high level of performance

Demonstrates a high degree of technical knowledge and continued growth pertaining to Garmin Cartography tools, techniques and processes

Functional understanding of Garmin product line; especially as it applies to Cartography

Demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills

Exhibits a strong emphasis on Quality Assurance measures and implements improvements as required by product and market needs

Maintain a motivated and positive attitude while keeping a flexible mindset

Ability to be proactive and assume a leadership role is highly preferred!
