The City of Tualatin is recruiting for a Management Anaylst II position in our Community Development department.This position is responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing special projects and programs that have a broad impact in the Community Development department and citywide.\u00a0Regular work includes the Community Development department annual budget, regional coordination of\u00a0transportation\u00a0planning, department communication, preparing materials for elected officials, and grant coordination.The position also serves as the department liaison to city-wide technology,\u00a0communication\u00a0and organizational improvement committees.\u00a0Want to make a positive impact in both the community and region? This position will coordinate with regional partners on behalf of Tualatin:On the Southwest Corridor Plan, which will help bring light rail to TualatinOn long range transportation planning projects like the Regional Transportation Plan - a key document to help secure funding for future transportation improvementsAdditionally, the incumbent will look for grant opportunities\u00a0and write proposals to help fund important planning work in Community Development and other departments.High-quality customer service, to both internal and external customers, is key to this position.We are below to see if you may be our ideal candidate for this position.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:While the position may be called upon to efficiently perform the full range of\u00a0essential duties and responsibilities which fall under the full Management Analyst II classification, the essential duties listed below are primary.Perform the following functions in addition to those Essential Duties and Responsibilities defined in the Classification Description.\u00a0Attend regional meetings generally and specifically related to transportation planning.Help manage coordination between the City and region to ensure the City's transportation planning interests are represented and the City's capital transportation projects are coordinated with regional planning.Regional coordination includes attending off site meetings, building partnerships with other agencies and preparing written work products that can be shared regionally.\u00a0\u00a0Coordinate with other City departments on newsletter submissions from Community Development and write newsletter articles.Responsible for finding other creative ways to communicate work in the Community Development department this may include organizing and attending meetings with community members.Works with Community Development staff to update the Community Development Department and other division web pages on the City website to reflect up-to-date information.\u00a0Prepare and help manage annual budget for the Community Development department including division budgets for Building and Planning using city's financial software, Excel, and other tools.Work closely with Finance department to track and prepare budget components pertinent to the Community Development department.\u00a0Prepare materials for elected officials including letters on behalf of City Council members, talking points on projects of their interest and gathering data and compiling in such a way that is useful for elected officials.\u00a0\u00a0Grant coordination entails researching grant opportunities, identifying appropriate grant opportunities based on City needs and writing grant proposals.The Management Analyst II may write grant proposals or help write and review proposals for other departments which requires coordination and communication with other City departments.\u00a0Serves as liaison to City-wide technology, communication and other organizational improvement committees.\u00a0Effectively, confidentially and sensitively interacts with staff, City Council, the public and outside agencies.QUALIFICATIONS\ufeffTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.The requirements listed below are representative of the the annual Community Development department budget, including analysis and coordination with other departments, ability to synthesize statistics, quotes and other documentation and make recommendations to the Community Development Director and other city officials.Ability to work on behalf of the City with regional partners with political savvy resulting in effective regional coordination.Strong written and verbal skills and ability to compose informational emails, flyers, reports and other documents on behalf of the Community Development Department.Ability to coordinate grants.\u00a0Ability\u00a0preparing materials for elected officials.\u00a0Ability to assemble, organize and present statistical, financial and factual information derived from a variety of original and secondary sources utilizing a variety of media.Advanced skills, designing spreadsheets and Power Point presentations, as well as advanced written and verbal communication skills, technical writing as well as writing to communicate with diverse audiences.Skills in graphic design are preferred but not necessary.\u00a0Familiarity with geographic information systems is preferred.\u00a0Ability to analyze data and summarize results in a presentable and understandable format for the Community Development Director, City Manager and elected officials.\u00a0EDUCATION and\/or EXPERIENCE: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering or Planning.Three (3) years of experience in project management, public administration, financial analysis and project control.Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute for the above.\u00a0CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSPossession of, or the ability to secure possession of, a valid Oregon driver's license.\u00a0SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\u00a0Supervision is not a normal responsibility of this position.May exercise some limited supervision in special instances.\u00a0PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: The physical
