With hundreds of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), survey, mapping and IT professionals in our Geospatial Practice across North America, Michael Baker International possesses in-house experience and resources to support all elements of your program needs, including: needs analysis, digitizing/data conversion, customized mapping applications, and systems documentation, implementation, and training. \r \rDESCRIPTION \rThe ideal candidate will have certain education, experience, and time management skills as identified herein. They will travel to project locations throughout the United States in one of Michael Baker’s Mobile LiDAR vehicles. Travel will occur on a regular basis and may require extended deployments for weeks at a time. The candidate will have a clean driving record with no major infractions for the previous 36 months. In certain circumstances, the candidate may be required to mobilize immediately to a project site. When mobilized on a project, the position will require working extended hours to perform data collection and certain data preparation for offloading. The position requirements are 85% field related travel and 15% in an office environment. \r\r\rA Mobile LiDAR Operator is a skilled worker that is responsible for daily production and reporting to the LiDAR Fleet Supervisor. \r\rYou will work in a team environment (two operators per vehicle) and, potentially with other staff during deployments.\r\rThe successful candidate will self-manage their time and production when challenged with weather and equipment adversities. \r\rYou will work to troubleshoot equipment issues in the field with support from office personnel and equipment manufacturers.\r \rPROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS \r\rHigh School Graduate, minimum - Bachelor’s Degree in geography, surveying, or similar field desired;\r2 years land survey field experience including: GPS collection and processing, traversing, leveling, establishment of H/V control is highly desired;\rApplication of survey software preferred;\rTraveling (driving Mobile LiDAR vehicle) throughout U.S.\r\rExtended deployments\rPotential for immediate deployments\rCurrent Valid Drivers’ License and successful driving record check.\rPreferred Requirements:\r\rLiDAR collection (static or mobile)\rCompetent computer skills \rComputer Data Processing\rGIS\rGPS Post-Processing\rMicroStation\rCurrent Passport or ability to obtain\r \r\r\r
