JOB SUMMARY:
The candidate for this position will serve as a member of the Ground Systems Integration and Test group in support of any software system integration and/or test effort undertaken by the group. The candidate will work with groups from Ground Systems, Systems Engineering, and Software Engineering to ensure that software requirements are complete, testable, and traceable to test procedures, develop test plans and procedures, execute those procedures, and develop the resultant test reports, in accordance with GeoEye policies, procedures, and processes.
Responsibilities

Evaluate requirements generated by System Engineering, develop the appropriate test plan, cases, and procedures to properly test the target software, using automated testing techniques where appropriate.

Conduct software tests on the target software in accordance with specified test plans and procedures using CM-controlled test plans, procedures, and test imagery as needed.

Ensure that the test approach, content and execution meets GeoEye quality requirements and that all test events are accurately recorded and included in test analysis reports required for GeoEye Change Control Board processes.

Ensure that any and all software test failures are recorded using the GeoEye defect tracking system.

Maintain master test plans and procedures in the GeoEye CM environment.

Provide status to software component lead and ground systems integration and test management on tasks and assignments.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
Bachelors degree is requred; in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering is preferred

Experience
Eight years of software QA and/or performance testing, or equivalent experience is preferred
Rational ClearQuest/Case, UML, UseCase, process modelling and design tools preferred

Ability to accurately identify software use cases
Ability to troubleshoot software / hardware configuration problems
Ability to develop a clear and concise testing strategy
Experience with GIS applications such as ESRI ArcIMS, ArcSDE and ArcGIS a plus.
