We Make a Difference every day with every engagement. \r \rSo what does a Project Surveyor at Michael Baker International do?\rAs a part of our Geospatial Information Technology (GIT) Team, a Surveyor delivers quality projects to an expanding base of state, local, and private clientele. \r \rCan you walk me through a typical day of a Project Surveyor? \r\r\rAssist and/or manage projects in the private land development and public/municipal sectors.\r\rEnsure project goals/objectives are met within prescribed timeframe and funding parameters.\r\rAssist in developing and writing proposals, define scopes of work and cost/bid estimates.\r\rPerform mapping related research, boundary analysis, calculations, exhibits, and legal descriptions for a variety of land development and public works related projects from small infill developments to large master-planned communities and public related improvement projects.\r\rPerform mission planning and coordinate field work for survey crews.\r\rReview construction plans and perform calculations for layout staking and prepare exhibits.\r\rPerform survey data processing and review of field work for projects.\r\rCompile topographic information, compute and manipulate digital terrain models for topographic mapping.\r\rPrepare and/or oversee the preparation of final maps, parcel maps, record of survey and ALTA maps; and prepare and/or oversee preparation of legal descriptions and associated plats, and boundary analysis, as well as work closely with engineers to ensure coordination of technical surveying and engineering aspects of a project. \r\rPerform or assist with field work for surveying projects of all types. \r \rWhat can I expect for a career path, and where might this role take me?\r\r\rWe are committed to the growth of our internal personnel and we support this with world class learning and development that leads to career advancement!\r\rAs your knowledge and capabilities increase, you will be able to explore our management and technical career paths. \rCould you be the Project Surveyor we are looking for?\r\rRLS or LSIT is required.\rTwo year degree required.
