Company/Position Overview
In this role you will serve as a Cartographic Tech 2 in the Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing section within the TERG Geospatial Services Department of Bonneville Power Administration. The Geospatial Services Department provides BPA-wide customer support including photogrammetry, remote sensing and geographic information system (GIS) products, and services.  TERG also provides Geospatial support in the maintenance, operation and development of new BPA facilities. 
 
This position provides professional Geospatial (Remote Sensing/GIS) services utilizing computerized data capture, storage, query, and analysis techniques for visual displays, spatial analysis, and tabular reports on a wide variety of geographical projects.

Develop and maintain databases and verify data quality through the use of automated and manual techniques to enter, edit, and process data sets.
Design and prepare publication quality cartographic products using industry and organizational standards.
Assist in preparation of GIS projects. Prepare data for conversion and editing.
Process special mapping requests.
Assist with photogrammetric modeling and compilations; which includes; compiling control points, aerial triangulation, terrain editing, orthorectification, and planimetic mapping, etc.
Provide file management for geospatial data mediums. Maintain files and records in accordance with compliance requirements. Verify all official records are accurately maintained for auditing purposes and in accordance with Information Governance & Lifecycle Management (IGLM) standards and procedures.  
Create and maintain metadata of newly created data sets to track the source, scale, currency and other pertinent geographic information, as well as any modifications to the data set.
Provide Geospatial support in the maintenance, operation and development of new BPA facilities.
Provide professional Geospatial (Remote Sensing/GIS) services utilizing computerized data capture, storage, query, and analysis techniques for visual displays, spatial analysis, and tabular reports on a wide variety of geographical projects.
Participate in organizational efforts to recommend and develop process solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of TERG operations, leveraging industry knowledge and best practices. Assist BPA staff in developing process tools that promote effective coordination of records, process maps and operating procedures that are shared or exchanged between work teams and functions.

Mandatory Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)
Education/Experience

4 - 6 years directly related experience in Geospatial Support, providing professional GIS (Geographic Information System) or Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing services utilizing computerized data capture, storage, query, and analysis is required. Experience to include: 

2 years experience working with PC operating systems, ESRI ArcGIS software is required.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite software including MS Word, Excel, Outlook is required (MS Office 2010 proficiency is required).

Desired Qualifications (Education, Certifications, Experience, Skills)

Bachelor\u2019s degree in a related field, such as computer science, geography, cartography, natural resources, landscape architecture, and environmental, urban or regional planning, with a strong emphasis in computer assisted spatial analysis is preferred.
Experience with MicroStation software is preferred.
A working knowledge of image processing, remote sensing, and LiDAR data mediums is desirable.
Experience working with ERDAS image processing procedures is desirable.
