Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is seeking a Survey Party Chief
to join our team in Wilmington, NC.
Survey data collection on Wood projects
Work with the geomatics services manager and project managers to achieve department goals
Continued training of field crew personnel
Provide quality control and quality assurance on geomatics deliverables
Project Related Responsibilities:
All facets of surveying projects Including;
Collection of deed data for boundary surveys
Establish project control monumentation
Collection of topographic information for 3d mapping
Providing construction layout on Wood projects
Aid in the preparation of cost and time estimates for survey proposals
Daily coordination with various engineers for collection of requested data
Monitor technical and quality control standards
Skills / Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
5 years of survey experience
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
Excellent organizational skills
Computer skills and technical competence
Commitment to work with other sections and divisions of Wood
Working on several jobs simultaneously
Maintain good client relations
Valid driver’s license
Ability to travel
Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy
Familiarity with utility locating
Physical Job Demands
Performing work in a variety of climate conditions including hot and cold weather climates
Requires the use of hand held equipment
Must be able to work in a field environment and have the ability to travel as required
