International GIS Jobs

An international GIS person is responsible for supporting projects involving the implementation of GIS technology for a DoD clients providing local GIS services. This position is non-supervisory. An international GIS professional has to provide geospatial technical support and training, conduct geospatial data compilation, and perform geospatial data collection via GPS. An international GIS professional must provide quality assurance for geospatial data issues. International GIS professional develops mapping products to facilitate information exchange, maintains compliance with federal geospatial standards. An international GIS professional utilizes GIS software to manipulate data in a raster and vector based geospatial environment, converts various data types into geo database feature classes and creates, configures, and administers enterprise geo databases, provides input to project managers for proposals and provides project status reports.
An international GIS job requires bachelor’s of science degree in geographic information systems, geography, computer science, or related discipline. One to three years direct GIS experience using ESRI GIS software (Arc GIS, Arc Info, Arc View), and minimum one year GIS (ESRI) related experience and good cartographic skills are required for international GIS professional. An international GIS professional should have basic understanding of relational database management systems and basic understanding of computer programming techniques. An international GIS professional requires written and verbal communication skills, advanced analytical and problem solving skills and ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
