Health GIS Jobs

A health GIS professional is required to work on a range of projects, carrying out research and support work. A health GIS professional helps to provide bespoke GIS solutions for customers and assist in the development of bespoke desktop and web based applications and assist in the running of the national population database and in managing and maintaining the GIS database of digital mapping products, including OS MasterMap. Well organised when working to deadlines, with a collaborative approach, a health GIS professional plans, organizes, and prioritizes work effectively and can operate successfully within a team to deliver both quality and timely results. A health GIS professional is responsible for liaising on the preparation of proposals for new project opportunities, writing papers, and presenting research at conferences and seminars. A health GIS professional drives the health and safety agenda based on a strategic plan and the principles of continual improvement. A health GIS professional develops first class H&S standards aligning to corporate core behaviors.
A health GIS professional should have an honours degree (or equivalent) in GIS, geography, maths, environmental sciences or another relevant scientific discipline, and experience of using MapInfo and/or ESRI ArcGIS products and of using and/or developing GIS applications. A health GIS professional should be self-motivated, and disciplined with a professional attitude. Additionally, a health GIS professional job may require experience in an H&S function.
